What Pinnacle Microcement Does

Microcement is a specialist surface system. When it is understood, properly prepared, correctly specified, and professionally installed, it creates a seamless, durable, design-led finish that tiles, standard coatings, and most alternatives cannot replicate.

Pinnacle Microcement work with homeowners, interior designers, architects, contractors, and commercial clients across London and the Home Counties. Whether you are planning a microcement bathroom in Hertfordshire, a seamless wet room in Surrey, a large-format floor in central London, or a commercial interior in Kent, we help you make the right decision from the start.

Our work covers bathrooms, wet rooms, floors, walls, kitchens, worktops, and commercial spaces. Every project is assessed individually. The right professional system is specified for the right surface, environment, and long-term use.

Why Choose Pinnacle Microcement?

Microcement needs the right preparation, product system and installation process. We focus on giving clear advice before work begins, so your project is specified properly from the start.

Specialist Installation

Microcement is not a skill that can be added on by a general builder or plastering contractor. It requires specialist application knowledge, the right product system for the surface, and a process that cannot be rushed. That is what we do — nothing else.

Honest Assessments

Not every substrate, budget, or project type is right for microcement. We tell you that clearly, before you commit. If a different surface would serve you better, we say so. Our goal is the right result for your project, not a sale at any cost.

Waterproof by Design

For bathrooms, wet rooms, and any surface exposed to water, we use a specialist microcement system that is waterproof by nature — not one that relies solely on a sealer applied at the end. That distinction matters for how the surface performs over years, not just weeks. Substrate preparation and correct installation still determine the final result, but the system itself provides built-in water protection from the start.

The Right System, Every Time

We work with a range of professional microcement and seamless surface systems. The final system is selected according to your project, substrate, environment, intended finish, wet or dry area requirements, and long-term performance needs. One system does not suit every situation.

Clear Guidance

We give clients realistic cost guidance, honest timelines, and a clear understanding of what the installation will involve before work begins. No surprises. No overpromising. No high-pressure close.

Design Support Included

Microcement is available in a wide range of colours, textures, and finishes — and choosing the right combination for your space is part of what we help with. Whether you are working with an interior designer, following your own vision, or still deciding, we guide you through finish and colour selection so the final surface looks exactly as you intended.

We install microcement across a wide range of surfaces and spaces, with systems suited to bathrooms, wet rooms, floors, walls, kitchens, worktops and selected commercial environments. How We Work: The Pinnacle Clarity Process

Every Pinnacle Microcement project follows the same structure — from first contact to final finish. This is how we reduce surprises, set realistic expectations, and make sure the work is done properly.

Step 1 — Initial Enquiry

Contact us by phone, email, or via the project enquiry form. Tell us what you are planning, the surface or space involved, your approximate location, and the timescale you are working toward. The more detail you can share early, the faster we can give you a meaningful assessment.

Step 2 — Project Information Review

We will ask for photos, measurements, and information about the existing substrate and surface condition. For bathroom or wet room projects, we will want to understand the waterproofing situation. For floors, we will ask about the subfloor type, any movement history, and expected traffic levels. This stage allows us to give you a suitability assessment and realistic cost guidance.

Step 3 — Suitability Assessment

We assess whether microcement is a suitable choice for your project. This is an honest conversation. If the substrate is unsuitable, the budget is below the realistic minimum, or another surface would serve you better, we say so at this stage — not after work has started.

Step 4 — Specification

Where microcement is suitable, we specify the right professional system for the surface, environment, finish, and long-term performance requirements. This includes the preparation process, waterproofing approach where required, number of coats, finish type, and sealer selection.

Step 5 — Preparation

Where microcement is suitable, we specify the right professional system for the surface, environment, finish, and long-term performance requirements. This includes the preparation process, waterproofing approach where required, number of coats, finish type, and sealer selection.

Step 6 — Application

Microcement is applied in multiple coats by a specialist installer. Each coat is allowed to cure correctly before the next is applied. The application process requires skill, patience, and awareness of temperature, humidity, and surface response. It is not a process that can be rushed without affecting the result.

Step 7 — Sealing and Curing

The chosen sealer is applied once the microcement is ready. Sealer selection depends on the environment — floors, wet areas, and dry walls each require different protection levels. The surface then needs time to cure fully before it is exposed to normal use.

Step 8 — Aftercare Guidance

We provide aftercare guidance before we leave the site. Microcement is a durable surface when it is correctly maintained. We explain what cleaning products to use, what to avoid, and how to maintain the finish over time.

Is Microcement Right for Your Project?

Microcement is not the right choice for every project or every budget. We would rather be honest about that now than take on a project that will not deliver the result you are expecting.

Microcement works well when you...

  • Want a seamless surface without grout lines
  • Are planning a bathroom, wet room, floor, wall or commercial space
  • Have a realistic budget for specialist installation
  • Have a substrate that can be prepared correctly
  • Value long-term durability over the lowest upfront cost
  • Understand the process takes time to do properly

It may not be right if you...

  • Have a budget set around standard tiling costs
  • Have a substrate in poor condition
  • Need the space back in use immediately
  • Are looking for the lowest-cost bathroom option
  • Are not prepared for occasional maintenance and resealing
  • Want a decision based on price alone

Not sure? Get in touch — we will give you an honest answer.

FAQs

  • How much does microcement cost in the UK?

Microcement installation typically costs more per square metre than standard tiling. Total cost depends on substrate condition, preparation required, wet area specification, number of coats, finish type, sealer, and project size. Small projects carry a minimum charge.

  • Is microcement suitable for bathrooms?

Yes — and when the right system is used, it performs extremely well. We use a specialist waterproof microcement system that provides built-in water protection as part of the product itself, not relying purely on a surface sealer.

  • Can microcement go over existing tiles?

Sometimes — but not automatically. We assess whether existing tiles are fully bonded, structurally sound, and flat enough to accept microcement properly. Loose, hollow, or cracked tiles need addressing first.

  • Is microcement waterproof?

The specialist system we use for wet environments is waterproof by design — the product itself provides water protection before a sealer is even applied. This distinguishes it from cheaper coatings that rely entirely on a surface sealer.

  • Does microcement crack?

Microcement can develop hairline cracking if the substrate moves, preparation is inadequate, or the wrong system is used. Risk is significantly reduced when substrate is properly assessed, preparation is correct, and installation is carried out by a specialist.

  • How long does installation take?

It depends on scope. Microcement is applied in multiple coats, each needing time to dry. A bathroom typically takes several days. Larger floors take longer. Sealing and curing add additional time before normal use.

  • Do small projects have a minimum charge?

Yes. Because microcement involves specialist labour, materials, preparation, sealing and travel, small projects carry a minimum project charge. We are transparent about this from the start.

  • Do you cover my area?

We cover London and the Home Counties including Surrey, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Get in touch for projects elsewhere.
